03-DEC-2018: Workshops organized on stress management and communication skill
ALIGARH December 3: The Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University organized two workshops including a one-day workshop on "Stress Management" and a two-day Workshop on Communication Skills.
The workshop on stress management, aimed at providing the students with an insight into the stress management strategies, delineated important factors for successful teaching and education. Thirty-seven students from different education programmes attended the workshop.
Addressing the students, Prof M Parvez, Chairman of the department, delineated the different ways to tackle issues causing stress and urged them to learn managing emotional and physical reactions to such issues through various self discipline means. He said one should learn how to change or impact circumstances in his or her favour.
Dr M Swalehin, Department of Sociology in his lecture focused on 'multi-dimension aspect of coping mechanism of stress'.
Following the workshop, an interactive session was organized discussing sustainable stress management.
At the workshop on communication skills, the participants were provided with training in communicating with difficult people and in difficult situations while having a control on one's body language. Dr Mohd Uzair, Department of Social Work was the resource person while Dr Rabeya, Department of English conducted an interactive session for the participants discussing the significance of communication in teaching learning process with special focus on oral communication and listening skills.
Dr Anjum Ahmed, Organizing Secretary and Dr Mohd Shakir, Workshop Coordinator worked hard to make the programmes successful.
