04-DEC-2018: World AIDS Day observed at RHTC Jawan
ALIGARH December 4: Marking the World AIDS Day, the Rural Health Training Centre, Department of Community Medicine, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized health related talks on AIDS Day theme "Know Your Status" which were aimed at spreading AIDS awareness among rural people.
The community members were informed about the symptoms of HIV and AIDS, routes of its transmission and ways to prevent the disease. They were also informed about the services available at the Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres, JNMC and District Hospital, where people can know their HIV status free-of-cost with confidentiality of the matter completely maintained. Common people were also made aware about ART Centres where treatment for HIV/AIDS is available free-of-cost and they were urged to get tested for HIV infection, which will pave the way for early diagnosis and treatment.
Prof Ali Amir, Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine, Dr Uzma Eram, Member-In-charge, RHTC and Dr Tabassum Nawab, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine played an important role in supervising the health awareness camp.
