06-DEC-2018: AMU mourns Prof Firoza Hameed's demise
ALIGARH December 6: A condolence meeting was held at the Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University to mourn the sad demise of Prof Firoza Hameed, former Chairperson, Department of Pathology, who passed away on December 4 after a prolonged illness.
Moving a condolence resolution, officiating Dean, Prof H S Khan, said that Prof Firoza Hameed's sad demise has evoked a sense of loss to the University fraternity and she will always be remembered for her remarkable services. Prof Khan expressed deep sense of sorrow and heartfelt sympathies for the bereaved family.
The students and staff at the Department of Pathology also expressed condolences to Prof Hameeda?s grieved family members.
Prof S H Arif, Chairperson of the department, said that Prof Firoza Hameed did MBBS from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal and joined AMU in 1970. She passed MD Pathology in 1973 in the first batch at JMC, later served the department as its chairperson from 1993 to 1996 and retired from the University services in February 1998. She also served as the Provost of S N Hall and will be fondly remembered for her humane, caring and disciplined personality.
She is survived by three sons and a daughter.
