08-DEC-2018: AMU Participants attend IPHU and 4th People?s Health Assembly at Savar, Dhaka,
Aligarh, December 8: The three participants including a Senior Resident from the Department of Community Medicine, Dr Yasir Alvi, an alumnus of J.N. Medical College, Dr Abhishek Royal and Dr. SM Danish- an alumnus of the ZA Dental College were selected for the International People?s Health University (IPHU) course on Access to Medicines at Gonoshasthya Kendra, Savar, Bangladesh. They were selected for their wide experience in sector of public health for the course workshop closely associated with the campaign for better access to medicine, intellectual property rights and other policies. About 40 participants were selected for the course from all over the world.
The team was led by Dr Nafis Faizi (Assistant Professor of Community Medicine, JNMC). He was one of the resource person for the workshop, in-charge of the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) related deliberations at the course.
Earlier these participants also participated at the 4th People?s Health Assembly (PHA) held at BRAC CDM, Savar, Bangladesh. In the 40th year of the landmark Alma-Ata declaration, the PHA included more than 2000 public health experts and activists assembled together to evaluate and critically analyze current processes and policies impacting health and healthcare at global, regional and local levels.
