15-DEC-2018: Academic Council meeting held
ALIGARH December 15: "In order to make the teaching more effective and student friendly, all classrooms will be converted into the state-of-the-art classrooms soon and a sizeable number of the classes have already been provided with PowerPoint presentation and other digital teaching aids", said Professor Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University while making opening remarks at the meeting of Academic Council held here today.
Expressing satisfaction and congratulating AMU fraternity over AMU's inclusion in the coveted category of "Institute of Eminence" recommended by a panel headed by Mr Gopal Krishnan, former Election Commissioner of India, Prof Mansoor said that AMU's proven academic credentials of a multidisciplinary university highlighted by him impressed the panel. "AMU's Faculty of Life Science was ranked first among the universities by the Times Higher Education and it is a proud moment for all of us", he added.
Professor Mansoor said that workshops on using new equipment are being organized and the faculty members will get hands on training. He urged the faculty members to update their CVs regularly as it will help university in securing good rankings. The AMU website is being restructured and all the vital information and facilities will be made readily available, Professor Mansoor concluded.
The meeting, chaired by Professor Tariq Mansoor, is attended by PVC, Professor M H Beg, Mr Mujib Ullah Zuberi, Controller of admission, Mr Abdul Hamid Khan IPS, Registrar, Deans of faculties, Chairmen of 103 departments, President, AMU Students' Union, other officials of the University and other members. The Academic Council deliberated upon the agenda comprising 15 points.
