28-DEC-2018: Teacher Development Programme
ALIGARH, December 28: Faculty of Management Studies and Research of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized "Teachers Development Programme" under its community outreach initiative (COI) recently with the objective to sensitize and develop a positive outlook in teachers towards technological and pedagogical changes being witnessed in school education.
Prof Parvaiz Talib (Chairman Dept of Business Administration and Dean Faculty of Management Studies) guided the program, which was conceived with intention of training and sensitizing the crucial role being played by teachers in imparting education to the under-privileged children. Dr Mohammed Naved Khan faculty in-charge for COI extended support and encouraged the organizers and participants.
The faculty opened its gates for 50 teachers of 7 low income school catering underprivileged children in and around Aligarh.
Shah Mohd Shadab, Manager (Hamara School), Shamim Idris, Ex-Principal (City School) and Wajiha Khan (Educational Consultant) were the chief organizers of the event. Technical and logistic support was provided by Zia Ur Rehman, Mohd Mohsin and Mohd Shoeb.
Wajiha Khan conducted session on "Classroom Management, Value Education and Low Cost Teaching Aids", Areeba took a session on "Managing Change in English Teaching Pedagogy". Dr Reshma Khan demonstrated the teachers how to teach mathematics through kinaesthetic learning. Binish Affan engaged teachers? in activities to boost their confidence. Dr Sherin Shervani addressed the session on "Teaching English in a fun way".
Certificates and mementos were given to the participants and speakers.
