05-MAR-2019: MAS organises free health camp for female employees to mark Women's Day
Aligarh, March 5: As part of the celebrations to mark International Women's Day, the Medical Attendance Scheme (MAS), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in collaboration with AMU Women's Club and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) organised a camp in which around 200 female AMU employees were given free health check-ups by teams of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) and Fortis Escorts Hospital.
Prof M H Beg (Pro Vice Chancellor), Dr Hameeda Tariq (Patron, AMU Women's Club) and Dr Farah Ashar (Member, ICC) accompanied the Vice Chancellor on the occasion.
Prof Hammad Usmani (Director, MAS) informed that free of cost, sugar level checkups, lipid profiles for screening abnormalities in cholesterol and triglycerides, eye examinations, vitamin D level checks, lever scans through specialized radiology procedures, Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests and cardiac tests were conducted during the camp in which scores of women were found to have sugar and cholesterol problems.
Dr Malik M Azharuddin (Cardiology Centre), Prof Seema Hakim (Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), Dr Nazia Ishrat (Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), Dr Lubna Zafar (Department of Medicine), Dr Shaik Mohammed Zakir (Department of Ophthalmology), Dr Najmul Huda, Dr Nakhat Haider Rizvi, Dr Sana Maria, Dr Naheed Parween, Dr Nishat Fatima and Dr Shariq Aqil conducted the checkups.
