06-MAR-2019: New Block inaugurated in Dept of Mechanical Engineering
Aligarh, March 6: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today inaugurated the New Block in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET) which has new labs, classrooms and chambers for teachers.
Prof Mansoor said that the University is committed to upgrade infrastructure and facilities for running research programmes. "We also intend to have the best facilities for the physically challenged and for the purpose, special elevators are being installed among other things," said the Vice Chancellor adding that the ZHCET has a very talented and competitive pool of teachers and students and they should have access to the best of facilities.
Prof Mirza Faisal S Baig (Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering) informed that the new block has a solar energy lab, an industrial lab, an M Tech Industrial class room, an M Tech thermal class room, a smart class room, three class rooms for B Tech students and five chambers for teachers.
Prof Badrul Hasan Khan (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology), Prof M Shakir (Dean, Faculty of Science), Prof Mirza M Sufyan Beg (Principal, ZHCET) and Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty members were present on the occasion.
Mr Nafees Ahmad conducted the programme.
