07-MAR-2019: Art Niche 2019 concludes
Aligarh, March 7: The Moinuddin Art Gallery in with the display of literary and visual to three-dimensional art pieces created by amateur student artists and affluent professionals from 17 different countries was a sight of beauty and splendor during the three-day extravaganza, 'Art Niche 2019' organised by the University Fine Arts Club (UFAC), Cultural Education Centre (CEC). The art exhibition concluded recently.
"Artists from Russia, United States of America, United Kingdom, Iran, Morocco, Bangladesh, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Tunisia, Jordan, Bahrain, Algeria, Switzerland, Kuwait, other countries and various parts of India showcased their work during the exhibition," said Prof F S Sheerani (Coordinator, CEC).
He added that students paid tribute to Indian Air Force Wing Commander, Abhinandan Varthaman, who has recently been released by Pakistan, following two days of custody, through the installation of a flying fighter jet art piece.
Student organisers informed that around 10, 000 people visited the Moinuddin Art Gallery on each day of the exhibition.
"International Calligraphy Artist, Gori Yusuf Husen and other renowned artists like Sourabh Sen Gupta, Gaurav Birla, Lokesh Sharma, Osamah Termizi, Rubina Multani and Afreen Khan conducted interactive workshops and demonstrations for AMU students during the event," said Abdur Rahman (President, UFAC) and Rohma (Secretary, UFAC).
Hiba (Joint Secretary) and Salim (Convenor) informed that art pieces, 'Structure of Unity' by RK Prasad and his team; 'Broken Bird Cage' by Bachelor of Fine Arts students and the 'Kettle' sculpture by Ms Alfarah Samim on Aligarh's love for tea were major highlights of Art Niche.
Former UFAC Secretaries, Nagma Shamim and Afreen Khan added that the wood installation by Sabir Khan also attracted many visitors.
Student organisers, Amna Jalali and Nihal Khan said that the event included cultural programmes of poetry recitation, monologue performances and special musical performances by Youtuber, Khushboo Sharma and Fusion Music Club.
The three-day event also had a commercial bazaar, 'Swaad Niche' comprising food stalls by Indian and foreign students and gaming stalls and arcades.
Competitions of poster making, Diya decoration, photography, food without fire, tattoo/mehendi art, rangoli, calligraphy and cosplay were also organised.
Valiant Business Media UK, Arena Animation, Transform Fitness Club and Divine Corporation of Fine Arts were the sponsors.
