09-MAR-2019: Dept of Zoology begins International Conference and workshop
Aligarh, March 9: "We need to encourage more collaborative research in thrust areas of biological and chemical sciences and biodiversity conservation using more applied tools," said Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor, while presiding over the inaugural function of the two-day, International Conference on 'Advances in Zoology Research' to take stock of the notable progress in the branches of zoology and the Workshop on 'Real-Time PCR' to provide hands-on-training on technologies which can be successfully implemented and optimized in laboratories.
The Conference and the Workshop are being organised by the Department of Zoology.
Attending the programme as the Chief Guest, AMU alumna, Prof Neelima Gupta (Vice Chancellor, CSJM University) spoke on technological advances in zoological sciences.
The Guests of Honour, Prof Debzhong J Liao (USA), Prof Niaz Ahmad (Bangladesh), Prof Tariq M Haqqi (USA) deliberated on the importance of integrated and collaborative research and data sciences.
Prof Qayyum Hussain (Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences) presented his remarks on the conference and workshop, while Prof Wasim Ahmad (Organising Chairman of the programme) delivered the welcome address. Prof M Afzal proposed the vote of thanks.
