12-MAR-2019: 'Classroom Management Skills' workshop held at Kishanganj Centre
Aligarh, March 12: In a Department of Education, Kishanganj Centre, Aligarh Muslim University organised workshop on 'Classroom Management Skills', the resource persons and faculty members discussed wide variety of skills and techniques necessary for teachers to keep students organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof Shah Alam (Department of Psychology) delineated adolescence problems in relation to classroom management.
Speaking on classroom management skills; Prof Alam pointed out that while parents play crucial role for their children, teachers are the role models for students, who also have to monitor their day-to-day learning issues.
Prof Raashid Nehal (Director, AMU Kishanganj Centre) discussed skills assessment to overcome shortfalls in learning outcomes.
He stressed the need to design context-specific solutions for the challenges of classroom management.
Dr Azimur Rahman, Mr Ghufran Ahmad and Mr M Isa Ali conducted the technical sessions, while Dr Azimur Rahman proposed the vote of thanks.
Thirty five teachers from 15 different schools participated in the workshop.
