28-MAR-2019: AMU faculty gets Typhoon HIL award
Aligarh, March 28: Typhoon HIL (Switzerland), an industry leader in automated test and verification of power electronics control systems has awarded Dr Mohammad Tariq, Assistant Professor, department of electrical engineering, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and his research group, with six Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) equipments worth Rs 1.47 crore for scientific research.
Dr Tariq is awarded by Typhoon HIL under its '10 for 10 Program'. Typhoon HIL has awarded leaders in typhoon technology in North America, South America, Europe and Africa, India, Rest of Asia and Pacific.
Describing the utility of these HIL equipments, Dr Tariq said that the equipments will make it very easy to analyze performance of different controllers designed for power electronic converters used in solar/wind energy system, electrified transportation and other areas.
Having same hardware systems at AMU will also help in training the undergraduate and postgraduate students and enhancing their job prospects, emphasised Dr Tariq pointing out that HIL equipment are used by research and development industries such as CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratory, Schneider Electric, ABB and Siemens.
