05-APR-2019: Professor Kathy L Melone deliver lectures in AMU
Aligarh, April 5: Professor Kathy L Melone (Nazarbayev University, Republic of Khazakstan) delivered lectures organised by the APJ Abdul Kalam STEM-ER Center at the Women's College and at the department of Education during her visit to the Aligarh Muslim University recently.
She spoke on 'Use and importance of models in science teaching and engineering' at the Women?s College. Prof Naima Khatoon (Principal, Women?s College), Prof Imrana Naseem, Prof Tauheed Ahmed (Director, APJ Abdul Kalam STEM-ER Center), Prof Farukh Arjmand (Co-Director, APJ Abdul Kalam STEM-ER Center) also spoke on the occasion.
Professor Kathy delivered a lecture on 'Science Models and Scientific Modelling: Effect of Students reasoning and congnition' at the department of education, which was presided by Prof Nasrin (Chairperson, department of education). Dr Asim Rizvi proposed the vote of thanks.
Prof Kathy is working on cross cultural comparative study from several countries focused on in-service and pre-service teachers understanding of authentic practices in science. Her visit was focussed on strengthening research collaborations between AMU and Khazakstan.
