10-APR-2019: Literary and cultural fest concludes
ALIGARH April 10: The literary and cultural festival "Aabshar '19", organized by the Literary and Cultural Society, Mohsinul Mulk Hall, Aligarh Muslim University, concluded here with prize distribution by the chief guest Prof Asfar Ali Khan, Director, Directorate of School Education, AMU and guest of honour Dr Jibraeil (Assistant Professor, Department of History).
These annual events included Debate, Turn Coat, Extempore, Ad-Mad Show, Qirat, Bait-Bazi, Essay Writing, Quiz, Singing, Mimicry, Dumb Charade and Mr MM, in which a large number of students took part.
The festival was earlier inaugurated by Prof Abu Sufyan Islahi (Editor, Tahzib-ul-Akhlaq).
Addressing the students, Prof Asfar Ali Khan appreciated the level of zeal in students and urged them to regularly engage themselves in extra-curricular activities as these were important in the development of an all-round personality.
Earlier, Dr Tufail Ahmad, Provost, Mohsinul Mulk Hall, welcomed the guests while Mohd Haider Raza (Secretary, Literary Society) presented a brief introduction to the Hall while Sayed Shad Ahmad Zaidi (Secretary, Cultural Society), Mohd Jamal (Jt Secretary, Literary Society) and Mohammad Faizan (Joint Secretary, Cultural Society) worked hard in organizing the programme successfully. A group of students from the Department of Fine Art held an exhibition of their art work on the occasion.
Warden and president, literary and cultural society, Mr Ghufran Ahmad, proposed a vote of thanks.
