11-APR-2019: Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall concludes annual fest
Aligarh, April 11: The cultural and literary societies of Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded its Annual Cultural and Literary Festival, 'Alfaz' with a felicitation ceremony. The four-day festival, featured Sham-e-Nat, entertainment quiz, Just-a-Minute, debate, Bait Bazi, open mic, solo singing, dealer hunt and dumb charades took place.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) motivated students to appear for UPSC Civil Services exams. "Chase your dreams consistently and no stone should be left unturned in your efforts," said the Registrar.
Guests of Honour, Prof M Shakir (Dean, Faculty of Science) and Prof Shakeel Ahmad (MIC, Building Department) urged students to follow rich traditions of AMU and work hard in qualifying competitive exams.
Welcoming the guests, Prof Sadaf Zaidi (Provost, Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall) thanked the generous support from the AMU administration for the development work in the Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall.
Dr Ammar Ibne Anwar proposed the vote of thanks, while Mr Asif Akhlaq conducted the programme. Mr Ameer Hasan (Cultural Secretary) read the report of activities conducted during the fest.
The guests distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions. Wardens of the hall were also present.
