11-APR-2019: Skills Lab organises workshop
Aligarh, April 11: Skills Lab, department of surgery, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a workshop on 'Laparoscopic Endosuturing and Stapling Techniques' in which 42 post graduate students of general surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology were trained through demonstrations.
Prof Mohammad Habib Raza (In-charge, Skills Lab and Organizing Secretary of the workshop) informed that as a sequel to the workshop, short-term training courses for post graduate students from all over the country will be conducted regularly.
He pointed out that the training and skills acquired in the workshop will help the surgeons in mastering the art of minimally invasive surgery.
"During the workshop, participants were provided with hands-on-training in various laparoscopic techniques through Power Point presentations," said Prof Raza adding that the participants also appeared in a written test and certificates were given to them.
Prof S Amjad Ali Rizvi (Organizing Chairman) and co-organizing secretaries, Dr Junaid Alam and Dr Yususf Afaque also spoke on the occasion.
The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Johnson and Johnson India Ltd, New Delhi.
