20-APR-2019: Scientific cum Alumni meet held at AMU
Aligarh, April 20: "We are proud of Alumni, as they are pillar of strength and brand ambassador, who provide the biggest network of AMU and the theme: reunite, relive and rejoice aptly summarises it. This meet is an effort to foster and develop brotherhood, respect and association among alumni?s to synchronize their experience, potential and energy to the advantage of Aligarh Muslim University," said the Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor in his presidential address , during the inaugural session of two day Scientific cum Alumni meet today organized by Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, JN Medical College, AMU.
Discussing many programs initiated by the AMU such as the Alig's Academic Enrichment Programme (AAEP), Winter University and Kashish, Prof Mansoor said he is carrying forward the mission of strengthening the AMU alumni network.
The Guest of Honour Prof (Dr) RK Mani (Batra Hospital, Delhi), said that "as a Critical Care Specialist I think anaesthesia as a discipline is never complete without all of its three arms in full expression: anaesthesia, critical care and pain management. The JNMC department of Anaesthesiology under able leadership of Prof Syed Moied Ahmed is an excellent example of such a unit".
Guest of Honour Prof Rashid M Khan (Senior Consultant at National Trauma Centre, Khoula Hospital, Oman), in his emotional speech, expressed confidence that the meet will widen the knowledge in subject of interest and the platform is to pay back to the university .
In his welcome address Organizing Chairman Prof S Moied Ahmed said the department is organizing the Alumni meet for the first time since its inception in 1981, with the objective to refresh old relationships, relish, and rejoice with the new ones. The mega event would not have been possible without the support of energetic faculty of the department, he added.
During the event retired faculty member from department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Prof Abdul Shakoor , Prof MMH Siddiqui , Prof Shahjahan Bano and Prof Shaheen N Jameel were also felicitated by Prof Mansoor .
On the occasion a souvenir was also released and mementos were given to guests by the Vice Chancellor.
While delivering the vote of thanks Organizing Secretary Prof Qazi E Ali said this meet provides a platform to our national and international alumni to share their extensive knowledge and expertise each other.
