25-APR-2019: Department of anaesthesiology and critical care concludes Alumni Meet
Aligarh, April 25: Old friendships were refreshed and new ones were formed as the department of anaesthesiology and critical care, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) alumni walked down the memory lane to rekindle old bonds at the Scientific-cum-Alumni-Meet of the department which featured special memorial lectures and felicitations.
Around 140 alumni from USA, European countries and the Middle East attended the two-day meet.
Prof Rashid M Khan, Senior Consultant, National Trauma Centre, Khoula Hospital, Mascat, Sultanate of Oman and Dr Amit K Singhal, Director, BLK Hospital, New Delhi delivered the Prof T Z Khan Memorial Oration and Prof Abdul Quadir Memorial Oration respectively; while Prof R K Mani, Medical Director, Batra Hospital and Research Centre, New Delhi delivered the invited lecture.
Prof Syed Moied Ahmed (Organising Chairman) said that discussions on how to develop and establish network of alumni and how to engage alumni in good positions for initiating exchange programmes for resident doctors also took place.
He spoke on the enormous accomplishment of the alumni in the fields of anaesthesiology, critical care and pain medicine.
Prof Ahmed further said that the former students shared their experience and knowledge with the incumbent students to inspire them for the best of contributions to the society.
Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali (Organising Secretary) said that during the two-day meet, alumni of various batches interacted with students of the current batch and shared scientific ideas besides relishing their student days.
Prof Hammad Usmani and Dr Obaid Siddiqui were the organising secretaries of the programme, while Dr Abu Nadeem was the scientific coordinator.
Dr Shahana Ali also spoke on the occasion.
