26-APR-2019: Legal Literacy Camp held in AMU
Aligarh, April 26: A Legal Literacy Camp was organised in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) by the Department of Law in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing and Adult Education at the NRSC Club in which faculty members and students called upon people to perform their duties towards society besides seeking their rights enshrined in the constitution.
The deliberations in the camp provided the people with the awareness on socio legal issues, interactive learning and problem solving through Nukkad Natak (Street play) and other activities.
Six teams of students participated to aware people on issues of child labour, drug abuse, voter awareness and role of media. People from various parts of rural and urban Aligarh attended the camp to understand their rights and obligations.
Prof Zaheeruddin (Dean, Faculty of Law), Prof Javaid Talib (Chairman, department of law) and Prof M Gulrez (Director, Centre for Continuing and Adult Education), Prof Hashmat Ali Khan (Programme in-charge), Prof Ayesha Munira, Prof Waseem Ali, Prof M Ashraf, Dr Syed Ali Nawaz Zaidi, Dr Kaleemullah and Dr Musharaf Jahan also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Shamim Ahmad conducted the programme.
