28-APR-2019: 90 percent candidates appear for Class XI entrance test
Aligarh, April 28: Nearly 90 percent of the applicants wrote the Combined Admission Test for Class XI (Science)/Diploma in Engineering and Class XI (Commerce and Arts/ Humanities) of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), which was conducted at 36 centres here today.
According to Mr Mujeeb Ullah Zuberi (Controller of Examinations), 33, 915 had applied for the Class XI science stream and diploma in engineering course, while 9501 candidates were applicants for the Commerce and Arts/ Humanities.
Besides AMU, the test was conducted at the Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar, Meerut, Kolkata, Bareilly and Bhopal centres.
Two teams of university officials led by AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) and Mr Mujeeb Ullah Zuberi (Controller of Examinations) visited various centres at AMU. Prof Rashid Omar (Officiating Proctor) also accompanied them.
AMU had also deputed senior faculty members as observers to ensure the proper and smooth conduct of the test. Some senior faculty members were also deputed to supervise the test outside Aligarh.
Help centres were organised by the AMU National Service Scheme (NSS) at the Railway Station and other important places to provide guidance to the candidates.
Special camps were also put up by university students and non-teaching and technical staff association to provide drinking water and other facilities.
