01-MAY-2019: UK academic completes AMU visit
Aligarh, May 1: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Alumni Association UK Visiting Fellowship-2019 recipient, Dr Kenneth White (Reader, Bioscience, London Metropolitan University) concluded almost a month-long AMU visit, where he was hosted by Professor Syed Ziaur Rahman (Coordinator, Aligs' Academic Enrichment Programme-AAEP).
Dr White delivered lectures on Phytochemicals for Treatment of Diabetes and Nanofiber Formulations for Drug Delivery and on topics related to the areas of molecular biology, cancer and genomics at departments of biochemistry, Saidla, pharmacology, radiology and radiotherapy.
He conducted seminars and workshops in various AMU faculties.
Dr White spoke on the Japanese order of Shinnyo-en Buddhism at the department of Modern Indian Languages and Ibne Sina Academy.
He was invited by Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman to attend a conference at AKS University in Satna on 'Recent Advances in Pharmacovigilance in Drug Discovery and Development', where he delivered the keynote address on 'Environmental Toxicology.'
Dr White also attended a US Embassy sponsored English proficiency programme for school children in AMU at the invitation of Prof A R Kidwai (Director, UGC HRD Centre). He interacted with the children participating in the programme and answered their queries.
