14-MAY-2019: Vice Chancellor releases 'The Aligarh Magazine' issue
Aligarh, May 14: The bicentenary issue of 'The Aligarh Magazine (2017-18)', dedicated to the visionary educationalist and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was released by AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor in a special function held at the department of English.
The issue, which marks 200th birth anniversary celebrations of Sir Syed has contributions on Sir Syed and Nation building, women empowerment, art and writing, green campus, media and technology, higher education and other multitude of topics.
Congratulating the editorial team, the Vice Chancellor said that it is important to remember sacrifices made by Sir Syed in the ardous path of laying the foundations of the University.
Prof Mansoor added: "It is our duty to ensure that the light that was lit by Sir Syed is carried forth to generations to come."
Appreciating the efforts of the editorial team, Prof M Rizwan Khan (Chairperson, department of English and Manager of the Magazine) pointed out that publication of university magazines is a significant mode of beyond the classroom learning that lends opportunities to students to imbibe and acquire effective communication and soft skills under the mentorship of teachers-in-charge.
