20-MAY-2019: AMU condoles, Prof Madhu Rani's demise
Aligarh, May 20: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) community today condoled, the sad demise of Prof Madhu Rani, former chairperson, department of fine arts, who passed away after a prolonged illness at a New Delhi hospital. A condolence meeting to mourn her death will be held at the department of fine arts on May 21 at 11:30 am.
Extending solace to the bereaved family of the deceased, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said, "Prof Madhu will be forever remembered and the AMU community prays for eternal peace to the departed soul, who lived a good fulfilling life."

"Prof Madhu with her contributions to the field of fine arts will live on and will continue to inspire generations of students and teachers to come," said Prof Rehana Khusro, Chairperson, department of fine arts.
Prof Madhu joined the department of fine arts as a lecturer in 1993 prior to which she worked as an artist in the SPM department (now known as the department of community medicine) of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC).
Born on 31 January, 1957, she completed MA (Fine Arts) and Phd from the Agra University after graduating from AMU with a BA (Fine Arts) degree.
She is survived by her son, Bharat, who resides in Bangalore.
