29-MAY-2019: New C T Scanner inaugurated
Aligarh, May 29: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today inaugurated a new 128 Slice GE Revolution CT Scanner installed in the department of radio-diagnosis, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. The scanner is designed to boost patient care and comprehensively improve imaging workflow with the latest technologies.
"With innovative technology and faster image acquisition, 128 slice CT scan is equipped to serve routine OPD and emergency patients alike for standardized and high quality medical care delivery," said Prof M Khalid, Chairman, department of radio-diagnosis.
He added that the new scanner will produce highly efficient and accurate non-invasive heart coronary angiograms for cardiovascular patients and also provide with the facility of improved scanning for CT brain angiography and lower limbs angiography.
Prof Khalid informed, under the supervision of Dr Mehtab Ahmad, Thursdays will be dedicated cardiac CT days at the department.
The doctors of the department further said, more number of patients will be scanned every day with fast and improved image acquisition technology.
AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof M H Beg accompanied the Vice Chancellor on the occasion. Prof S C Sharma (Dean, faculty of medicine), Prof Ibne Ahmad and Dr Shagufta Wahab also attended the inaugural function.
