03-JUN-2019: Patent granted to AMU for electro-mechanical juicer grinder
Aligarh, June 3: An electro-mechanical juicer grinder invented by Dr Shamshad Ali, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Section, University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) can make sumptuous, mouth-watering fruit juices and milk shakes even during the electricity cut offs.
The product, which has been patented as an intellectual property by the Patent Office, Government of India can be changed from manual mode to power driven mode or vice versa by just pushing or pulling a lever.
Speaking on the objective of his invention, Dr Shamshad said: "The idea behind the invention was to provide a masticating juicer grinder, which could work both with electric power and manually as electricity connection cut offs make people lose access to basic utilities in their kitchens."
The spindle of the juicer is run manually and through electric motor, he added.
"The Juicer is very useful particularly in rural areas, where there is a shortage of electricity. It is also useful for urban people willing to refurbish their kitchens by upgrading them with energy saving appliances," said Dr Shamshad, who invented the juicer with Mr G Singh.
