25-JUN-2019: University takes cognizance of doctors engaged in private practice
Aligarh, June 25: In order to put an end to private practice by some Faculty of Medicine teachers, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor has directed the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Principals of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) and Dr Z A Dental College (ZADC) and Chairmen of concerned departments to ensure the presence of teachers in respective departments/hospital during duty hours.
"Some teachers of the Faculty of Medicine have not been found in departments and hospitals during regular duty hours especially after 12:30 pm, indicating that they are preferring to give time to private practice, while working as government doctors at JNMC and ZADC," stated a University circular on the matter.
The notice has also directed chairmen of various departments in JNMC and ZADC to not send attendance of the teachers found missing during regular duty hours for doing private practices at different hospitals.
The circular added: "Doing Private practice at various hospitals during regular duty hours is against the University rules and the Dean, Principals and Chairmen are directed to send names of the doctors missing in their duty hours for necessary action. The University also reserves its right to take legal action and lodge FIR against the private hospitals, illegally using services of University doctors against the rules."
