11-JUL-2019: AMU faculty member delivers keynote address in Paris
Aligarh, July 11: Prof S M Safdar Ashraf, Chairman, Department of Tahafuzzi wa Samaji Tib, A K Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) delivered a keynote address on 'Health and Nutritional Status of Residential and Non-Residential Young Adults Staying in the University' at the Global Summit on Food and Nutrition held on July 1 and 2 in Paris.
In his detailed address, Prof Ashraf discussed significant advances in past 50 years regarding food and nutrition, role of dietary factors in non-communicable diseases and comparison of modern and ancient Greek classification of food and nutrition.
He presented a focussed study on nutrition and health status of AMU students.
Prof Ashraf pointed out that since AMU students have normal weight, it suggests that the food they are consuming is of good nutritive value.
He has also visited the offices of World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva, UNICEF and United Nations.
