15-JUL-2019: World Population Day observed in AMU
Aligarh, July 15: The Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized poster presentation, health talk and focused group discussion under UHTC, to observe of World Population Day (WPD) for creating awareness about global population issue.
Prof Anees Ahmad, chairperson, department of community medicine said that population is being increased at an alarming rate day by day jeopardizing the development and well being. Current demographic trends should be well analyzed and detailed health programs should be planned in advance for combating the rising issues of ageing, migration, urbanization and non communicable disease.
Dr Subuhi Afzal, CMO In-charge of UHTC stressed upon use of contraceptive measures, family planning, spacing.
Dr Ali J Abedi, Assistant Prof emphasized on proper implementation of health policy as it mandatory to bring change in the community.
Residents, interns and MSWs of the department explained methods of contraception and its benefits.
Dr Zafar Iqbal, Dr Karthika , Dr Ambika Saraswat, Dr Noor A Lari, Dr Nikhar Gupta, Mr Hasan, Mr Danish, Mrs Khan and many others participated in the event.
