19-JUL-2019: AMAUK organises alumni meet
Aligarh, July 19: Members of the Aligarh Medical Association of the United Kingdom (AMAUK) walked down memory lane, cherishing old relationships and forming new ones as they reconnected with their alma mater during the Alumni Meet held at Summer Cross, Hargate Hall Road, Wormhill, Buxton SK17 8TA, UK.
Addressing the alumni, Prof Seema Hakim, Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University quoted Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, "Dreams are not those which you see in your sleep. Dreams are those which do not let you sleep, till you have fulfilled them".
The Chief Guest of the function, Prof Seema added that the UK based JNMC alumni have fulfilled their dreams through sheer determination making their alma mater proud.
Speaking on the developments in JNMC and AMU, Prof Seema pointed out that the AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor and the University administration are determined and dedicated to bring the best of facilities.
"Today a number of national and international academic ranking agencies including the US News and World Report, Times Higher Education, prestigious Week-Hansa, the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Government of India, Outlook, India Today have ranked AMU in top universities," added Prof Seema.
Attending the function as the Guest of Honour, Prof Abdur Raheem Kidwai (Director, UGC HRDC and Director, KA Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies) spoke on the challenges and prospects of higher education in India.
Dr Khalid Rizvi, President, AMAUK welcomed the guests, while Dr Habib Ahmad, Vice President, AMAUK briefed about AMAUK functioning.
Dr Amjad, Dr Zafar and Dr Shaista also spoke on the occasion.
