26-AUG-2019: Bihar DGP visits AMU
ALIGARH August 26: Mr Alok Raj (IPS), DGP (Training and Bihar Police Academy, Government of Bihar) urged the students of the Aligarh Muslim University to appear in the Civil Services examination in large number and with good preparation. He said that UPSC examinations may be difficult but not impossible to qualify.
Mr Raj, who as chief guest, graced the felicitation programme of the "Scholarship Test for Dynamic-30", pointed out that qualifying the civil services examination is not an impossible task and one can easily get through the prestigious examination with dedication, patience and personal discipline.
Mr Raj stressed upon time management for preparation and urged the students to remain aware about the ever changing examination pattern. He mentioned AMU alumni Mr Jawed Usmani, retired IAS, who had topped the civil services examination in 1978. Sharing his experiences, Mr Raj stated that in 1988, another AMU alumnus, Manoj Yadav, cleared the UPSC examination with him, who is presently posted as DGP, Haryana.
Mr Raj also attended the cultural programme and recited poems of Gopal Das Neeraj and Basheer Badr. Later in the evening, Mr Raj offered floral tribute to the founder of University Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and also took round of heritage buildings of the University in the guidance of Dr Rahat Abrar, Associate MIC, Public Relations Office, besides spending time and keenly observing the manuscripts at Maulana Azad Library.
Guest of honour, Mr Abdul Hamid, IPS (Registrar) exhorted the students to make best use of their time and work hard to achieve exemplary success in their respective fields. He stated that honesty, handwork, discipline in life and commitment towards the goal is necessary for examinations. He also mentioned that officials who have cleared UPSC recently should also be invited to share their experiences so that they can update the students about their experiences.
AMU research scholars including Tabrez Siddiqui (Commerce) and Aftab Alam (Business Administration) conducted the "Mission UPSC" programme under the guidance of Dr Tauqir Alam (Biochemistry) to motivate AMU students for the preparation of examinations conducted by the UPSC.
Dr Mohd Aiyub Shabab and Dr Mohammad Allam conducted the programme while Dr Tauqir Alam welcomed the guest and proposed a vote of thanks at the end of the cultural event.
Mr Md Perwez Siddiqui made special efforts to organize the function with the help of other students including Intekhab Rahman, Umrez Ali Haider, Yousuf Jawed, Hasan, Imran, Adil, Mohsin Khan, Samantak Chakrowarty, Rehan Hussain.
