03-SEP-2019: Dept of Anaesthesiology concludes TOT, BCLS courses
Aligarh, September 3: Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, J N Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded the two-day, 'Indian Resuscitation Council (IRC) Certified Training of the Trainers (TOT) and Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) Provider Course.
Faculty members, who qualified the TOT MCQ exam are now certified national trainers and instructors.
JNMC faculty members participated in the TOT course; while 36 junior residents and private practitioners from all over Aligarh were enrolled in the BCLS Provider Course.
"These courses trained participants in promptly recognising life-threatening emergencies, giving high-quality chest compressions, delivering appropriate ventilations and providing early use of cardiovascular life support," said Prof S Moied Ahmed, Chairman, Department of Anaesthesiology.
He added that the faculty members who passed the TOT exam are now IRC certified national trainers, eligible to conduct CPR courses at JNMC and throughout the country.
It is to be noted that JNMC is a Comprehensive Resuscitation Training Centre (CRTC) for CPR courses, where trainers can conduct CPR courses with its faculty members as instructors.
The instructors of the course, Dr SSC Chakra Rao (Chairman, IRC), Dr Rakesh Garg (AIIMS, New Delhi), Prof S Moied Ahmed (JNMC) and Dr Bharat Bhusan Bhardwaj (AIIMS, Rishikesh) were felicitated at the valedictory function.
