05-SEP-2019: District Early Intervention Centre concludes workshop
Aligarh, September 5: The District Early Intervention Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), National Health Mission (NHM), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India concluded a one-day workshop on 'Early Identification and Intervention in Children with Special needs: Facts and Practices' in which deliberations were made on timely identification of disabilities in children to provide them high-quality health care.
Resource persons, Dr Om Sai Ramesh (Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi), Dr Nagarathna V (Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi) and Mr R Ershad (Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, Secunderabad) delineated nurturing care of children with special needs and the support to caregivers and families taking care of such children.
Former AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Tabassum Shahab and Dr Uzma Firdaus lauded the organising team in conducting the programme.
The workshop included teaching sessions, interactive programmes and case discussions. Faculty members of the Department of Paediatrics and other allied departments, students and research scholars attended the workshop.
