05-SEP-2019: AMU schools celebrate Teachers' Day
Aligarh, September 5: Various Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) schools today celebrated the Teachers' Day, marking the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an exemplary teacher and former President of India.
Addressing students during special Teachers' Day assembly at the AMU Girls School, the Principal, Mrs Amna Malik said, "Teachers nourish and prepare students for whole life by giving students the required knowledge, skill level, confidence and the ability to choose the right paths."
Mrs Amna Malik congratulated students of classes X and XII, for clearing board exams with flying colours.
Mrs Amna with school teachers later visited the class rooms to judge the winners for decoration and cleanliness.
In class XI and XII category, XI-A (Science) won the first prize and XI (Arts) finished second, while XII (Arts) stood third.
IX-E, X-D and IX-C won the first, second and third prizes respectively in the Class IX and X category.
VII-A and VIII-D were the joint winners of the Class VI to VIII category. VII-B finished second, while VI-D and VII-D shared the third position.
V-B bagged the first prize in the Class I to V category, III-A and IV-A were second, while I-B finished third.
Senior students also took teaching assignments of junior classes to mark the occasion.
AMU ABK High School Girls also celebrated the day with students participating in lemon race, book balance game and musical chairs. Dr Saba Hasan, Vice Principal said that on this day, it is important to remember the crucial role, teachers play in shaping life and careers of their students.
Addressing students at the Teachers Day Assembly of the STS School, Mr Faisal Nafis (Principal) said that teachers inspire hope, ignite imaginations, and instil love of learning in their students. "On this occasion, let us value and acknowledge the contribution of all teachers in shaping their lives of their students," he added.
