06-SEP-2019: Dept of Social Work organises Orientation programme
Aligarh, September 6: The Department of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University welcomed its new batch of aspiring future social workers, who have been newly enrolled in the Masters in Social Work (MSW) in the '24th Orientation Programme' to commence its new academic session.
Addressing the newly admitted students, Prof Akbar Husain, Dean, Faculty of Social Science said, "In a span of two years, you will be ready to work as therapists, healthcare social workers, school social workers, and as clinical social workers with your knowledge of macro and micro-aspects of professional social work practice."
Prof Anees Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Community Medicine assured full cooperation in providing a platform for necessary medical social work training to the MSW students.
Dr Naseem Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Social Work delineated aims and objectives of social work education.
Dr Mohammad Tariq spoke on the curriculum of the MSW course.
Dr Mohammad Arif conducted the programme, while Dr Quratulain Ali proposed the vote of thanks.
