23-SEP-2019: Prof Salma trains Integral University faculty members in case writing
Aligarh, September 23: Professor Salma Ahmed, Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) provided hands-on-experience in writing cases to the novice and experienced faculty members of the Department of Commerce and Business Management, Integral University, Lucknow, during a two-day Faculty-Development-Programme on 'Case Methods-Learning, Teaching and Writing'.
She attended the programme as a resource person with research scholars Mohd Azmi Khan and Ms Sundus Chisti.
"Teaching with case studies provide a means for abstract and conceptual ideas to be applied in practical, real-world business scenarios and cases place students in real-life situations for coming up with solutions," said Prof Salma adding that the academia can elevate teaching standards by increasing the number of cases being used in their classes.
She shared with the participants, the necessary skills required to develop a case and the incorporation of concepts during the training.
Prof Salma also answered queries during an interactive session.
Recently, she had also trained Indian Business School (IBS), Bangalore faculty members in case writing during a special session entitled, 'Experience Sharing by a Prolific Case Writer'. She had then presented a case in which she questioned whether it was right for renowned brand, Burberry to burn unsold clothes for maintaining exclusivity.
