24-SEP-2019: Guest Lecture at Department of Commerce
Aligarh, September 24: Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Guest lecture by its alumnus Prof Khalique Ahmad, Ex- Dean, Faculty of Economics and Management and International Institute Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University (IIU), Malaysia on Similarities and Challenges of Muslim Market Potentials in 21st Century.
He discussed the conceptual classification of the market on the basis of religion. He presented the empirical justification for the presence of Muslim markets with about 1.6 billion Muslim population around the world and identified the key challenges for the emerging Muslim of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). He expounded on the different Halal certifications available for the Muslim consumers and their growth patterns.
The chairman of the department Prof Nawab A Khan introduced the theme of the lecture and its relevance.
Later the research scholars had an interactive session with the speaker. Dr Nayyar Rehman proposed vote of thanks.
