Dr. Gazanfar Ali awarded Iqbal Samman
Aligarh, September 28: A prominent novelist, poet and author Professor Ghazanfar Ali, a former faculty member of Aligarh Muslim University and alumnus has been awarded with the prestigious literary award of the country ?Iqbal Samman? for 2018. The award, given by the government of Madhya Pradesh carries a cash prize of Rs. 2 Lakh and a citation.
Dr. Gazanfar Ali has 27 books to his credit, and he has written in almost every genre of literature. He published 10 novelists, 2 collections of short stories, two collections of poetry, two books consisting sketches and a dozen books on criticism. His campus novel ?Fusoon? and his epic poem Karb-e-Jan has got him wide spread critical acclaim.
Iqbal Samman for 17 was conferred on an eminent critic and celebrated novelist and poet Prof. Shamsur Rehman Farooqui who is the member of the Aligarh Muslim University Court.
