07-OCT-2019: AMU faculty coordinates NAC 2019 workshop in Mangalore
Aligarh, October 7: Professor S Moied Ahmed, Chairman, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) provided intense hands-on-training to residents and consultants of Anesthesiology in a workshop on 'Surgical Airway Management', while coordinating the National Airway Conference (NAC) 2019 at K S Hegde Medical College, Mangalore.
He also shared with the participants the expertise in the evolving field of medical education to impact the quality in all aspects of anesthesia and perioperative training in the country.
"The workshop emphasised different techniques of managing patients facing difficulties with conventional techniques for their airway management," said Prof Ahmed pointing out that he trained the participants in preventing deaths due to deficiency of oxygen.
Participants were also imparted training on how to make openings in the front of neck through the cricothyroid membrane to insufflate oxygen, he added.
Prof Ahmed said, "The workshop focussed on technical and non-technical anaesthesiology skills in relation to the management of rare and critical anaesthetic. Instructional lectures and useful videos were also shown."
Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali and Dr S Hussain Amir assisted him in the workshop.
Prof Ahmed informed that National Airway Conference (NAC)-2020 will be organised by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, JNMC.
