Aligarh, October 15: The Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today in a 'condolence meeting', mourned the demise of its stalwart teacher, Prof Khalid Zaman Khan, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, who passed away at a New Delhi hospital.
Extending deepest sympathy to the bereaved family of the deceased, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said that University will do the best for the welfare of Prof Khan's family.
He pointed out that Prof Khan was fighting illness with courage, determination and optimism and he kept working for the Faculty of Unani Medicine and the University till his end.
"Prof Khan was tied to his hometown, Kiratpur, Bijnore, where he was finally laid to rest," said Prof Mansoor.
Prof Mohammad Muhiul Haque Siddiqui, Acting Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine said that Prof Khan was one of the most compassionate people anyone could come across.
"He was always keen to share administrative and academic expertise with colleagues," said Prof Saud Ali Khan, Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College.
Prof Ferasat Ali, Chairman, Department of Kulliyat pointed out that Prof Khan came from a noble family background of traditional medicine practitioners.
"The deceased was a well known Unani medicine expert all over the Country," said Prof Naeem Ahmad Khan, Chairman, Department of Ilmul Advia.
Prof (Hakim) Abdul Mannan read the Dua-e-Maghfirat (Supplication for Absolution).
AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Akhtar Haseeb and Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) also attended the meeting.
