19-OCT-2019: AMU faculty conducts workshop in Mathura
ALIGARH October 19: Professor Salma Ahmed, Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University, along with her research scholar, Mohd Azmi Khan, conducted a two-day workshop on case writing at the Hindustan Institute of Management and Computer Studies, Mathura for its students and faculty members, with special focus on developing and analyzing cases. The objective of the workshop was to highlight the importance of case teaching and to find out solutions to the problems in the class room.
Addressing on the occasion, Professor Salma Ahmad said that though case writing method evolved from the field of law, it has become an integral part of management education and an important pedagogical tool. She discussed the case methodology approach which, comparing to the lecture method, is highly collaborative and learner-centered approach and helps in inculcating int he students ability to think creatively and critically.
Professor Ahmed underlined the importance of creating skill to develop case and incorporate concepts learnt in classroom in writing cases. Model cases and process of their development were also discussed in the workshop while the participants eagerly attended an interactive session on ?Showcase your Case?.
