04-NOV-2019: Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer starts CME
Aligarh, November 4: A six-day Continue Medical Education (CME) Programme focussing on diet and nutrition-related non-communicable diseases (NCD) was inaugurated at the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today. The programme organised by the Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer is meant for keeping health professionals abreast of the developments in 'Regimental Therapy for Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases'.
Presiding over the inaugural function at the Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC) auditorium, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Akhtar Haseeb explained how Unani regimental therapy procedures based on modulating habitat, life styles and dietary habits are gaining popularity.
Attending the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, Dr Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai remarked: "Obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases including hypertension are some of the current health issues faced by the world. In this scenario, traditional systems of medicine stand out as a way of coping with the relentless rise of chronic, non-communicable diseases."
Guests of Honour, Dr D C Katoch and Prof S Shakir Jamil spoke on the need of bringing traditional therapies and medicines in mainstream to tackle the problem of many emerging diseases.
Prof M M H Siddiqui, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine highlighted contributions of the Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer in the development of Unani medicine all over the country.
He informed that new certificate courses and post-graduate seats will soon be introduced in the department.
Prof Saud Ali Khan, Principal AKTC urged participants of the programme to give feedbacks on lectures and discussions on implementation of theories.
Welcoming the guests, Prof Asia Sultana, Chairperson, Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer briefed about the highlights of the programme.
Dr Abdul Aziz Khan conducted the programme, while Prof Mohd Anwar proposed the vote of thanks.
Health professionals from none different states are participating in the CME.
