05-FEB-2020: Department of Radiotherapy and Clinical Oncology observes Cancer Day
Aligarh, February 5: The Department of Radiotherapy and Clinical Oncology, J N Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) observed the 'World Cancer Day' and organised awareness programme at the JNMC OPD to minimise the fear attached with Cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.
Speaking on the types of cancers and the treatment procedures, Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) urged cancer patients and their families to stay strong.
"It is important to run awareness campaigns to inform people about the causes and treatments of cancer as there is a sharp increase in cancer patients," he added.
Prof Shahid added that it is hoped that these campaigns will lead to early detections to help health workers in the management and treatment procedures of the patients and to motivate people for changing life styles.
The programme was attended by 478 participants, who were given Cancer Day badges and pamphlets.
