24-APR-2020: AMU VC urges people to make bigger charities this Ramadan
ALIGARH April 24: Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor has urged Muslims to strictly adhere to social distancing and personal and environmental hygiene this Ramadan to check further spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus) and save lives. "It is a testing time for humanity and every person should work for the safety and security of the people, irrespective of religion, caste and place", he added.
Professor Mansoor said Ramadan's messages of self-restraint, complete submission to Allah's will and charity can be materialized better this year with social distancing and compassion for the needy adopted at the mass level. The prayers performed at home during Ramadan, instead of going to mosques, are similar to saving lives in emergency and the Almighty will accept these prayers, he hoped.
The Vice-Chancellor called upon the AMU fraternity to make charities with benevolence and reach out to deserving people in every section of society. He said charities made to help working people affected during the nationwide lockdown will go a long way to strengthen society in many ways.
