04-JUL-2020: HICC organises online induction
Aligarh, July 4: The Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised an online induction programme to make post-graduate students understand the importance of controlling the spread of diseases and minimizing the number of healthcare-associated infections.
Addressing the resident doctors through video conferencing, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor spoke on various infection prevention practices.
Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Principal, JNMC said that HICC is committed for its cause of reducing the Hospital Acquired Infections.
Dr Fatima Khan, Secretary, HICC and convener of the event, said that the doctors must adopt the best practices of infection prevention as they are the role models for other healthcare workers.
Officials of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, VMMC Safdarjung Hospital, Super Speciality Pediatric Hospital and PG Teaching Institute Noida also addressed the resident doctors through an online platform.
Experts further addressed the post-graduate students on the difficulties related to the Covid19 outbreak.
Dr Simon Judes, Dr Monish MS and Dr Shriya Kaushik won the first, second and third prizes respectively for most active participation; while Dr Iram Abid, Dr Megha Mohan and Dr Sarah Irfan stood first, second and third respectively for summary presentation of the event.
HICC has so far organised 21 sessions on controlling the spread of novel coronavirus and trained 565 doctors and 261 nurses and other health care workers.
