19-OCT-2020: Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall celebrates SS Day
Aligarh, October 19: Sir Syed Day 2020 was very different from the ones we have observed so far owing to Covid-19 pandemic but it couldn't dampen the spirits of the AMU residents of the Hall and 'bulbuls' of Sir Syed's 'Chaman'. The Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall of Aligarh Muslim University celebrated Sir Syed Day of the Centenary Year of the University with vigor.
The Hall organized University level competitions to celebrate the life and vision of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Upholding the traditions of AMU, a power point presentation on the topic "Life of Sir Syed" and ghazal singing competition were organized for the students and alumni of the University.
The events were organized by the efforts of Ms Alisha Ibkar, Literary and Cultural Warden and Dr Zarrin Imran, Ms Rafeeda Siddiqui and Ms Naveela Khan, Resident Wardens of the Hall under the patronage of the Provost, Professor Subuhi Khan.
The PowerPoint presentation competition received an overwhelming response from the students. The First Prize was jointly bagged by Ms Ateeqa Ansari and Ms Ilma. The second and third prize winners were Ms Neha and Ms Deeksha respectively. Ms Yusra, Ms Sadia and Ms Zainab bagged consolation prizes.
In online Ghazal competition on the theme of Urdu Poetry, the first prize was bagged by Ms Jawariya Anwar while the second and Third Prizes were bagged by Ms Zainab Jamal and Mr Atif Ali Khan respectively.
The E-certificates were distributed to all the winners and participants by Prof Subuhi Khan (Provost).
