24-OCT-2020: Three Day Workshop on CEmONC TOT
Aligarh, October 24: A-three day workshop on "Training of trainers on Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn care" (CEmONC TOT) was organised recently on virtual platform by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, JN Medical College AMU and King George Medical College Lucknow, in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UP-TSU).
Prof Nishat Akhtar, Chairperson, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, JNMC and Prof Uma Singh, HOD, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dean, King George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, sensitised the participant about the objectives of workshop.
Interactive and informative sessions were addressed by faculty members of JNMC and KGMU and around 44 faculties from Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Institute of medical science (IMS), BHU Varanasi, SN Medical College Agra, GSV Medical College Kanpur and Motilal Nehru Medical College Prayagraj were trained on comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care.
Prof Nishat said that the deliberation of this workshop will help in providing better quality obstetric and newborn care. She hoped that in future these four medical colleges will again conduct such CEmONC Training programs for the Medical officers who will serve at first referral units (FRU).
The workshop concluded with the pledge by all to work as a team in reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.
