31-OCT-2020: Foreign education consultation programme concludes
ALIGARH October 31: The four-day online foreign education consultation programme held for the Aligarh Muslim University students by the Training and Placement Office (General), AMU was concluded with a large number of participants.
In his concluding remarks, guest of honour, Professor Shafey Kidwai (Chairman, Department of Mass Communication) urged the students to learn from the life of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan how he looked at the social relationship, liberal values and rationalism. He said students are the true representative of cultural ethos of the university and the university is judged from what they do in their practical life.
The alumni from Australia, Germany, Italy, France, New Zealand, Japan, Turkey, Hungary, Taiwan and the USA gave tips to the students on admission process and scholarship opportunities in foreign universities while Dr Syed Masarrat Ali (Boston, USA) moderated the various sessions.
The inaugural session outlined the general admission process in foreign universities with presentations by Dr Syed Masarrat Ali, Huma Khan (Australia), Areeb Mahmood (USA) and Benazir Khursheed (France). On day two, Ayesha Khan (Germany), Hira Khan (Italy), Anam Fatima (France), Mohammad Rafey (Turkey) and Altafur Rahman (Hungary) focused on higher education opportunities in Europe with the help of powerpoint presentations. Admissions in the United States and United Kingdom universities were discussed on day three by Yusuf F Akhtar and Sameerah Desnavi (USA) and Saba Ameer (UK). The final session's presentations were given by Huma Khan (Australia), Zainab Fatima (Japan) and Dr Mohammad Yasir (Switzerland).
Dr Jahangir Alam welcomed the participants and moderated the interactive session. Dr Muzamil Mushtaq proposed a vote of thanks.
