section is composed of three beautiful galleries and some rooms. In one room
personal belongings of the founder are
displayed. First gallery depicts a brief introduction of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan
and his associates. The second gallery tells the history of various phases of
the Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College in the form of photographs and maps.
Third gallery is a brief history of Aligarh Muslim University and exhibits the
photographs of different Chancellors and Vice Chancellors of this University.
Two big translites one in the conference room and the other in the Library of the academy are fixed depicting some of the close
associates of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
Academy is shortly going to display Sir Syed's Doshala along with memento by the
British Government and some rare
photographs of his close associates which it has recently acquired . An
old sherwan ( with the monogram of Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College),used to be
the student's dress is also going to be displayed
During the year 2011-2012,approximately more than one thousand scholars/visitors visited the Academy on different occasions, to visit the museum or to consult the library for research projects on Sir syed Ahmad Khan.
the official records of the M.A.O. College, it also contains records of various
societies, projects and associations established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan,
covering a period of about eighty five years. Starting with the scientific
society, British Indian Association, it has records of Mohammedan Education
Congress/Conference, United Indian Patriotic Association and Mohammedan Anglo
Oriental Defense Association of Upper India. Thus, the bulk of records
constitute a veritable source material not only for the study of Muslim
Educational Activity during 1863-1947 but also the contribution of Muslims in
the building of the nation during the freedom struggle.
academy is planning to enlist, classify, accession and digitise these records of archives.
understand Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his times, a special Library is established
in the Academy. This library consists of some rare manuscripts such as Income
and Expenditure registers for the years 1876 and a personal diary(few years) of
Sahibzada Aftab Ahmad Khan. It also contains 2451 books belongings to the 19th
& 20th centuries.
preservation and protection of the archival material, rare books and
manuscripts on Sir Syed , a small laboratory is established.
Presently this lab is doing plastic lamination of broken or acidic
papers. During the year 2011-2012 more than one thousand papers and documents
were laminated and preserved in the document registers, prepared specially for the purpose.
