AMU ABK High School(Boys)

 ABK Union High School founded in1946 by AMU Students Union as Madarsa school established with the aim to teach Urdu and impart lesson in the  recitation of the Holy Quranul Majeed to the Children of the grade IV  employees of the University and educationally down trodden sections of the  Muslim Community residing around the Campus. 

The Madarsa  shifted to a big room near Sir Syed Hall in 1950.Present building of the Girls Section near the Union Hall  built when  Dr. Zakir  Husain was the Vice-Chancellor.In 1963 the Madarsa became a primary School.

Prof Abdul Baseer Khan, senior professor in Zoology Department made  unusual  contribution for the school. In 1988 school rechristened as Abdul  Baseer Khan Union  School and upgraded to Junior High School.In 1985-86 the Boys Section established at Emadul Mulk Road. 

In 1995-96 students/ children of University employees allowed to appear at     class IX in 1996-97 class X as private students at the Board Examination of  AMU. 

In 1998 all the students of the school allowed to  appear as private students  at the AMU Board Examination. 

Since then the students of this school appearing at the AMU Board  Examination with a  private status.Presently nearly 3500 students in both the sections. Students in 

Class I to X  (Girls & Boys). 

The Girls Section holds classes from 1st  to class  X. Upto class IV is Co-   education from class V to X girls students taught in  Girls Section and boys   taught at 

The Boys Section. 

The Boys Section  a large open field as play ground with U shape school  building.Turf Cricket Pitch rarity in Aligarh City.Developed substantial sports Culture.  Football ground, Basket Ball Court  Both the sections are partly  double storeyed building. 24 class rooms in  Girls Section and 21 class rooms in the Boys Section. 

Remarkable historic development when the UGC approved to take over ABK  Union High School as a regular secondary school of AMU in its meeting on  December 22, 2011.

On January 14th 2012 at the Boys Section of the  school Ex-Vice-Chancellor  Prof. P.K.  Abdul Azis unveiled the stone of declaring the school as a regular  school of AMU with its new name as AMU. ABK High School.

The Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Zameeruddin Shah and the Registrar/  Manager Group Capt. Shahrukh Shamshad issued office Memo on  30.05.2012 declaring AMU, ABK High School as a regular Secondary school of AMU and its students as internal students of the University from the Session 2011-12.
