On 29.4.1984 was selected a Probationary Officer in Aligarh Gramin Bank sponsored by Canara Bank, Regional Rural Bank, established by an Act of Parliament, 1976 and resigned as Manager on 14.7.2000

At the inception of joining was allotted Sections of immense turmoil particularly related to the Students problems, such as Students, Scholarships, Cash, Pension ,Budget and Grants Sections. Consequent upon retirement of M/s Mohd.Farooq and Mohd. Ahmad, the then Deputy Finance Officers, I was assigned to look after the work of 11 Sections. All the accounts have been automated and computerized.

From 01.01.2005, consequent upon relinquishment of Mr. S. Shafiq Ahmad, the then Finance Officer, the work of Internal Audit Office was also assigned to me and since then this work is being carried out as such.

From 01.09.2007 the charge of Finance Office has been given by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. In addition to this the charges of Purchases Office and Properties and Waqfs Department of the University have also been assigned which are being successfully managed.

Annual Accounts of the University on Common Format of Accounting have been devised and prepared by the University and the Annual Accounts of the University have been switched over to the Accrual Accounting System as per advice of he UGC/MHRD/CAG. The AMU is the first University in India which have switched over to the Accrual Accounting System.

The AMU is the first University all over India which has paid its salaries and 40% arrears to its teachers and employees by implementing the VI Pay Commission’s Recommendations.


Proper and accurate financial discipline of the University funds is being maintained which in turn Rs.04 Crores extra have been provided to the University by the UGC under Non-Plan Grant.

The undersigned assumed the charge of office of Finance & Accounts Department on 1.9.2007.and thereafter took over the charge of the Property & House. During my period no encroachment on university properties was made. The office of the Properties & Waqfs also facilitated raising of boundary at 5500 sq. yards at Firdaus Nagar, Ambedkar Hall, near Jamalpur Nursery, at Old Fort and own the litigation from Moti Sisngh

Mr. Chaudhary Sant Ram, S/o Mr. Madhu Ram Kurmi a resident of village Meghla, Pargana Fakhrpur, Tehsil Kesarganj, District Bahraich of U.P. donated a huge valuable agricultural property by Registered Gift Deed to Aligarh Muslim University but to my dismay and surprise till September 2007 no one was aware about this and now the University has obtained necessary documents. and property is in the constructive possession of the university and very soon with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor some local farmer may be designated as a caretaker of the Property
